![]() We understand hair can be a source of frustration. Let’s talk about hair and how it works in Daz Studio. Hair is a big part of how a person appears, so when it comes to creating 3D characters, this is something you want to get right! Not only that, there are so many different kinds of hair-hair colors, shapes, textures, fizziness, straightness, curls. For starters, just one head of hair is a collection of about 100,000 individual strands of keratin! Each strand works together-or against each other-to create an attractive style or a bad hair day. There are tons of reasons why hair is so difficult to get right. Now they’ll stay on when the legs are moved.Let’s talk about a notoriously difficult topic in 3D: modeling realistic hair. They are now two separate entities and can be Parented to the left and right feet. They don’t arrive exactly back in place, so you’ll have to position them again with the Translate and Rotate Tools. And send them across the bridge back to Daz Studio. When that’s done select both shoes (Select all). NOTE :A second panel opens above the first panel. Rename each shoe left and right in Hexagon. (Straightening the new right shoe so that it’s flat on the ground). (You might be able to change the names when they’re back in Daz Studio as well). Use the Translate (Move) Tool to move it to the side of the original. Why it appears above the original and upside down, I have no idea. In this case we want to go in the “x” direction. Left click on the direction you want the mirrored object to be made. Go into Vertex Modeling and select “Symmetry” When you’ve selected the object, a dark blue plane will appear above the shoe. Now select the remaining shoe and send it across the bridge to Hexagon Studio. ![]() Open the Geometry Editor and choose “Lasso Select”. ![]() We need to be able to Parent the left shoe to the left foot, and so on. The problem is when you want clothing to be firmly attached to a body part you need to “Parent” them to that body part otherwise they’ll come off when you’re moving whatever limb they’re on. In this case with “The Freak” figure, both the left and right shoe are named “freak_oxfordshoes”. ![]() Many clothing sets you buy for figures in Daz Studio (other 3D programs as well) arrive with the shoes packed as one entity. ![]()
